Roles & Responsibilities:
- Participating in all aspects of our cloud-infrastructure design and implementation, including the rollout and configuration of new and existing cloud technologies, network strategy, containerization and serverless compute strategy, DR/failover/resilience strategy, security strategy and improvements, and system administration.
- Ensure that our application is running on a fault-tolerant, highly-scalable serverless infrastructure at all times.
- Participate in and drive initiatives to improve upon our cloud infrastructure design to achieve company efficiency, scalability, and resiliency goals.
- Lead and participate in projects that automate all aspects of infrastructure management, scale-up, configuration, and more.
- Automate all aspects of our application lifecycle and provide the right environments and environment design to support all phases of our application lifecycle from development to production.
- Work closely with our developers to evaluate new infrastructure technologies they may need for new features and product initiatives.
- Work with developers and operations to design effective strategies for infrastructure and application monitoring, alerting, and operations.
- Perform ongoing infrastructure (compute, storage, network, etc.) capacity planning and maintenance to ensure our infrastructure meets current business demands.
- As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will design and automate our cloud infrastructure and deployment capabilities, allowing us to scale up quickly and continue moving fast at scale. We are looking for someone who is passionate about infrastructure, automation, system reliability, performance, and security, and who has an eye toward taking our infrastructure, development processes, and operations to the next level — from semi-automated to fully automated.
Skills/Experience
Technologies:
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) and AWS technologies (IAM, ELB, VPCs, Route53,EBS/EFS/S3.
- Experience configuring and operating large-scale, containerized production infrastructure on ECS, EC2/Fargate, RDS, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail.
- Experience automating processes using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
- Experience automating infrastructure deployment and operations with tools such as Ansible and Terraform to deploy and update Cloud Infrastructure.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (ConcourseCI, Jenkins) and automated test/deploy.
- Hands-on experience with operating system administration and tuning on Linux.
- Self‐starter who can solve hard problems and work independently when necessary, and is able to identify potential problems and nip them in the bud before they surface.
- Able to work effectively as a member of a team in a fast-moving environment.
- Experience around ML and data processing technologies/systems.
- Experience with Git management and how it is used in delivery while conforming to the organization’s SDLC standards.
- Experience installing, configuring, and tuning application messaging technologies such as ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, etc.
- Experience with Software Development tracking and collaboration tools (Atlassian Suite etc).
- Experience with basic database administration: installation, emergency recovery, creating accounts, backup, tuning SQL queries, indexing.
- Hands-on experience with operating system administration and tuning of Microsoft Windows.
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent years of experience.
