Role & Responsibilities
- Working closely with product managers and team members on UX design ideas to improve and simplify the user experience.
- Making architectural and modernization decisions to ensure our front end remains current and meets our current and future customer needs.
- Participating in the full lifecycle of front end features, starting with customer needs,
- ideation, mockup, and ultimately implementation and ship to production.
- Working as part of full stack feature teams to implement features as a cohesive unit
- Proposing and working on technology and testing strategy improvements to keep our
- technology approaches current and modern and ensures our code remains high quality and bug free at all times.
- Working closely with back end developers to define and evolve our back end API to best meet the needs of the front end
Skills/Experience
Technologies
- 8+ years as a developer shipping production code using modern, object-oriented languages (e.g. Python, JS, Golang, Java)
- 4+ years experience as a front end developer, with at least 2 years using React and related technologies (e.g. React-query)
- Strong CSS, HTML, Javascript skills to ensure we get exactly the UI behaviors and look that we want for our customers
- Demonstrated experience in a technical leadership capacity on a prior project
- A passion for building performant front end web applications using the latest technologies.
- An eye for good UX design, able to translate feature ideas into initial mockups and ultimately elegant, but performant, UX implementations.
- Experience with Typescript and Material-UI preferred
- Must have worked as a front end developer on at least one product shipped to production and used by external customers
- Experience with CI/CD and common SDLC tools/techniques (e.g. Github, branching, code review process)
- Experience with Flask and Django but helpful, but not required
- Experience and familiarity writing tests for the front end application
- Self‐starter who can solve hard problems and work independently when necessary, and is able to identify potential problems and nip them in the bud before they surface.
- Must be able to work effectively as a member of a team in a fast-moving environment.
- Proficiency to handle complex and quality demanding jobs.
